Coffee, Calm, and Affirmations: How to Create Your Own Mindful Morning Ritual

Starting my day with mindfulness sets the tone for a balanced mindset.


Let's be real not every day and every moment will be positive and rainbows.


But I do strive for balance.


One simple way I do this is by creating a morning ritual that involves savoring my coffee (Cafe Bustelo of course!) and reading my daily affirmation currently reading ("It's a Good Morning Just Because You Love Me").


Here's a quick guide for creating your own Mindful Morning Ritual:


  1. Set the Intention: Before you even pour that first cup, set the intention for the day. This could be as easy or as simple as a word or phrase. I tend to recycle the same three "calm", "Focus", and/or (depending on the day ahead) "gratitude".


  2. Savor that Coffee!!: Now thoroughly enjoy that hot cup of coffee. The warmth of the cup, the steam rising from the top, the smell that emanates as you put it to your mouth.


  3. Pore Over your Affirmation: While sipping that coffee take a few moments to read through your daily affirmation. If you're not reading a daily affirmation recite one. "I am capable of handling whatever comes today". Repeat them over and over. Let them sink in and guide your mindset.


It's not a sprint take your time with it. Enjoy these small moments of peace and quiet.
